With a treasure trove of unique items tucked into every corner, Uncommon Objects is a museum as much as it is an antique-lover's paradise.

We squeezed in a visit to Kerbey Lane Cafe before our 7 a.m. flight out of Austin.

Our first meal in Texas was at Rudy's, a BBQ restaurant attached to a gas station. After hearing we were from New York, the staff treated us to delicious samples of all the meats and sides we wanted to try. The moist brisket was to die for... we have yet to eat something like it in New York!

We went to the original County Line, on Bee Cave Road in Austin. Since it was our second BBQ meal of the day, we didn't go for the All You Can Eat specials, but we heard they are pretty amazing!

Beautiful executive suite on the 24th floor of the Hilton in downtown Austin. Our executive privileges included access to both the lounge on the 25th floor as well as access to the business center computers next to the lobby. Very comfortable and nice accommodations!

Going to see bats under the Congress Avenue bridge and hearing live music on 6th street are inevitable stops at night in the capital of Texas.

"The Drag" between 21st and 25th streets on Guadalupe in Austin, is a hip shopping enclave of clothing, furniture and gift shops, and a great "good eats" zone.
