Anyone up for a climb? La Rocca (meaning fortress or rock, or both in this case) has the town of Cefalu' nestled against its base. A Byzantine settlement dating to the 6th century lies atop this huge rock. The foot paths are for the most part comfortable to climb ... just a long way to the top. The views are rewarding and well worth the effort especially when looking out over the ocean and the medieval district of Cefalu'.

Dating back to the 5th century BC, the town of Cefalu', like most of Sicilian towns, contains elements of Arab, Norman, Roman and Greek civilizations. Come with us now and walk the streets of the medieval district, visit stores, restaurants and historic locations. Watch our meals being prepared by Sicilian chefs and listen to one local restaurant owner sing while he serves the food.
