Welcome to the Tripfilms blog! The early days of a startup are the most interesting and exciting, and full of funny stories. I thought I’d share with you some thoughts about how we started Tripfilms in Provence.
Tripfilms is the only online media site to be founded in the small town of Venasque (pop. 640) in Provence. I know this is true because high speed internet only arrived a week before we did! This summer, we spent one month working and enjoying life in this little village. We hiked up Mt. Ventoux, played tennis, kayaked in the Gorge d’Ardeche, picked cherries in local orchards, jogged in the countryside, and cooked pasta almost every night and ate Nutella on baguettes almost every morning. Jamay (our producer) still says that the Nutella in New York is not as good as the Nutella in Provence. We need to research this!
We also tried to work a few hours each day, which wasn’t always possible. The good news is that we spent 12+ hours a day living and working together for a month, and we are still friends! We'd like to think that a month in Provence would be a cool recruiting tool for future Tripfilmers.
One of the things we did was to make a simple video of our hike to the top of Mt. Ventoux. You can check it out here. The video is only so-so, but at least it brings to life the general experience. For the good stuff, we refer you to our filmmakers who have created much better pieces about Provence: Avignon, Moustiers, and St. Marie de la Mer!

Wow! Keep me in mind for future employment! I've been dreaming of moving to France and working! I have videos on the site, I work professionaly in video production, and I majored in French in college! Promotion aside..I love the site and can't wait to produce some more content. -- hitchcockhill
