We all know that travel is about limits: testing them, pushing them, and enforcing them when necessary. This week, Tripfilms filmmakers are paying homage to the worldwide art of pushing limits—in a good way.
Filmmaker Burt Wolf cuts right to the chase with a fascinating look at the world’s tallest building, Taipei 101, and gives us a look at how to push limits tastefully with a virtual trip to the Taipei restaurant that serves the most expensive noodle soup we’ve seen ($120 for a bowl featuring five cuts of beef from five different countries, including a personal consultation with the chef).
Pushing the limits of height and time, filmmaker Vanessa Villanova takes us on a one-minute journey to the summit of Ecuador’s Mount Cotopaxi. Judging by her labored breathing, we’re guessing it took a bit of editing to get the 17,500-foot climb down to 60 seconds.
And because we can’t conclude a post about pushing limits without a nod to the beacon of extravagance, the cruise ship, we’re putting the spotlight on a limit-shattering tour of the Carnival Destiny with new filmmaker natdaza. Let’s just say that it pushes the limits of confined bathroom space, over-the-top food portions, and our tolerance for bad dancing.
