Tripfilms in Texas02/26/2008 16:02, by TF_Tony in Tripfilms Blog |
These days, the eyes of the country are upon Texas as the March 4 presidential primary draws near. And because Lone Star State is perhaps the most misunderstood state in the nation, we’re turning to Tripfilms contributors to give us a closer look.
Believe it or not, Montrealer Stefanie Taschereau currently boasts the most Texas videos. Check out host Jared’s guidebook-style coverage of Austin at Night and San Antonio’s Riverwalk to get a starter course on two of Texas’ most vibrant cities. Our favorite, though, is his walk through Fredericksburg, a small, charming German settlement in Texas’ stunning Hill Country. From an Oktoberfest celebration to a wine tasting, peaches to hot sauce, museum visits to hikes, he shows us a quainter, quieter side of a state known for being, well, big.
For a more unusual take on Texas, don’t miss emilykeslar’s virtual journey through The Good Latimer Tunnel, a showcase of local graffiti artists’ work that leads visitors into Dallas’ historic Deep Ellum neighborhood. Last, get a taste of the Worst BBQ in Texas at Rudy’s with Tripfilms producer jamay. Let’s just say that whomever endorsed that moist brisket gets our vote.
