The fastest way to get to JFK Airport by train is to take a LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) train from Penn Station to Jamaica and then JFK Airtrain to the airport. That can take about 30 to 40 minutes. One can also find it more convenient to take E, J and Z subway train from Midtown Manhattan to Sutphin Boulevard Station in Queens, and then JFK Airtrain to the airport terminals.
