Thanks for the great tips! I'm planning to go to Buenos Aires this July, and I will definitely take your advice :D
What a wonderful fim. I should have seen them before my recent trip. I had meat for lucnh and then for dinner and I was all meated out. I enjoyed a Burger King, why not? A video, nice and slow, of the zoo would be interesting.
if you buy a mate made of wood or a gourd, make sure to cure it with wet yerba mate leaves for two days before you use it to drink. buy a cheap mate for 10 pesos but splurge on a good bombilla for 15 pesos, not the 3 pesos ones they sell everwhere.
Thanks for the vegetarian tip, I ordered eggplant my last trip and it had a layer of ham that I thought was a tomatoe when I saw it on another diners plate. Next time I will ask. I didn't know about the culture choices on Corrientes or about discount movie tickets. The info will make my next stay in BA more fun. Thanks, the film was so helpful and clearly presented.
the theater scene is really worth checking out, it is probably more experimental than new york (meaning in some ways less commercial, but also more hit or miss, people really take risks here!) the abasto area also has some great underground theaters. omar pacheco does some great plays with no dialogue.
