The Alcazar: A Palace with a Split Personality
The Alcazar is probably the planet's most confused World Heritage Site. The Spanish King who drove the Moors out of Seville wanted his own Moorish palace, and hired Moors from Grenada as workers to construct a version of the Alhambra, including magnificent gardens. Another section of the Alcazar, directly attached, is a conventional European palace.
