Palacio Chico hotel is very loud, the rooms are stuffy and it is overpriced for Guatemala in general. The rates claim to include breakfast but all you get is a piece of bread and coffee in the morning. If you want to pay with a credit card, there is a 5 % markup. Considering the number of good hotels in Antigua, I think Palacio Chico best be avoided.

Palacio Chico is an example of an average mid-range hotel in Antigua. Our room, in particular, is better for a large group than for a solo traveler because of the shared bathroom. However, breakfast and free internet were both included in the price ($50/night). We enjoyed our stay here but moved into another hotel that was a bit cheaper and just as nice. It's easy to find hotels with quaint garden areas and terraces with spectacular views.
