The following is a short document of the Mayanot Taglit Birthright trip I took in January '08. Ten days in Israel, the footage takes us through Jerusalem, Mt. Zion, Kotel Tunnels & Western Wall, Southern Excavation, Yad Vashem (Holocaust museum), Mt. Herzl, Tel Aviv, Old Jaffa, Sataf, Machane Yehuda, Caesarea, Tzfat, Golan Heights, Kfar Kedem and Mamshit (desert sunrise). We also did a host of other things like hiking up Massada and swimming in the Dead Sea but due to lack of film I couldn't shoot everything. There's a random out of focus shot in this - I peeked my camera into the room where the last supper was eaten... Thanks to airport security who have convinced me to get a new passport photo based on the insane amount of racial profiling I was subjected to - first time I've ever been looked at as Arab (usually they think I'm Dominican). Also thanks to the organizers, Zev and Tamar, Danny, Yosef and Fraydi and everyone on bus 18 who made this what it was. The historical relevance of the places we saw and walked on and Zev's narration of it all made this trip more than just a fun time. Next year in Jerusalem... -Jeremy Scott
