Cancun is an excellent place to fly into from north America as the prices are usually very cheap. If you time your flight right you can even avoid staying there and make your way south to Tulum on the day of your arrival. But, stay a day or two. The Ciudad Cancun offers good shopping in the markets, great local restaurants and exciting night life.
