Granada's Alhambra is an masterpiece of Islamic architecture and art. It is a massive complex of palaces, fortress, gates, and gardens. The Palacio Nazaries (Nasrid Palace) is one of the most spectacular man made structures on the planet and is widely regarded as the most splendid Islamic structure in Europe. The geometric tiling and stucco work, intricate Arabic inscriptions, elaborate painted cedar ceilings, charming court yards, reflecting pools, beautiful gardens, and every room perfectly proportioned are reasons why this is Spain's most visited site. It is quite an impressive site even for the most jaded traveler.
