Budget Inn - Ryokan-style Hostel Guesthouse

The Budget Inn is a very friendly, clean, and convenient place to stay in Kyoto. Just a seven-minute walk from Kyoto Station (which is, architecturally and culinary-speaking, a sight in itself!), the Budget Inn was a great base for both seeing Kyoto as well as taking day-trips out of Kyoto. Though it's a budget guesthouse, there were nice touches like complimentary tea and coffee in the morning, and free kimono dressings and sake tastings at night. We also loved meeting fellow backpackers in the common area (and even ended up meeting up with one of them a few days later in Tokyo!). We highly recommend the Budget Inn to all travelers to Kyoto.
