For guests who have explored the Serengeti, Kenyas Masai Mara is a natural extension and the site of the climax of the phenomenal annual Great Migration. Known as the spotted land to the Maasai, the Mara is a land of breathtaking vistas, astounding year round wildlife and rolling hills dotted with shukka-draped Maasai. The resident game elephant, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, lion and cheetah appear alongside the migratory wildebeest, zebra, kongoni and topi. Leopard and serval hunt the plains, while endangered black rhino lurk in dense thickets, and large rafts of hippo and enormous Nile crocodile drift in the Mara River. Six species of primates and over 450 birds add to the Maras incredible natural diversity. Located on a private concession leased from Maasai landlords in the western Mara, &Beyond Kichwa Tembo lies directly in the path of the Great Migration.
