The Tombs of Santa Croce

It's hard to believe that many visitors of Florence tend to overlook Santa Croce cathedral, the final resting spot for some of Florence's most famous figures, including Michelangelo. Maybe it's because it's a bit further away than the centrally located tourist spots, or perhaps people figure that if you're going to see one church in Florence, it should be the Duomo. Those who don't add Santa Croce to their itineraries are truly missing out on some of the greatest art in Florence, significant tombs, and even the famous Leather School (see video "Leather City"). Next time you're in Florence, pay your respects to Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, and others at the incredible Santa Croce cathedral.
