Castiglione del Lago: A Perfect Day

Located in the very heart of Italy, Castiglione del Lago is a sleepy, quaint village on a point that juts out into the beautiful Lago Trasimeno. It's a great day trip stop from the lake's famed beaches. It also has excellent restaurants for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed strolling the towns streets, getting gelato in the piazza and sample local salamis. The views are also incredible. If you are in the Umbria or Tuscany area, this town is a must-stop!
