The Umaid Mahal is a midrange hotel in the Bani Park section of Jaipur, just west of the historic, walled core of the city. It bills itself as a "heritage castle", though it's not old--it just looks the part. The interior is nice and the hotel offers everything you could need. The rooftop restaurant serves breakfast every morning and you can dine there, too, if you wish (though I will warn you that I got sick eating their naan--I later discovered that it was made by the same person handling the raw chicken for the tandoori pit). It's much more reasonably priced than the "luxury" hotels in Jaipur. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. It's quiet, everyone is friendly, and most rooms have balconies.
