It is a low snow year on the East Coast but Hunter Mtn, former snowmaking capital of the word, has some decent skiing considering zero natural snow. On route 23a we pass an ice fall, which usually has ice climbing in normal snow years as well as Katerskill Falls. Katerskill Falls is one of the nicest falls in the Catskill region and is worth the short hike to the upper falls which are the highest in the catskills. Tannersville, the small town before hunter has a few good restaurants and bars. North-South Lake is a great nearby campground if you are in the area during the warmer months. Enjoy!
