Few people in life really ?Push the Limits?, but one man is doing just that, taking on the challenge of a life time, travelling 30,000 miles over two years in a wheel chair. For 37-year-old Andy Campbell, mountains are the most important part of his life, allowing him to feel completely free. Andy is paralysed after he broke his back in a climbing incident eight years ago. But something like that won?t stop him. And he?s now found new ways to make sure he can still see the world. Andy?s story struck a chord with the organisers of the ?Go Beyond? bursary at Land Rover and the Royal Geographical Society. The award is aimed at those who want to take a journey beyond their limits and boundaries. And after winning the bursary, Andy is now due to set off and do just that. Andy will travel 30,000 miles across four continents in two years. He will climb, kayak and paraglide his way across every natural environment imaginable; from sea to desert and everything in between. Andy?s ?Pushing the Limits? adventure has just begun, and from the UK they head to The Black Sea. Their aim is to demonstrate that the exploration of a diversity of landscapes is within everyone?s reach, whatever their ability. They will travel through Europe following the route of the River Danube and finish in early September 2012. Using a wide range of equipment ? including off-road wheelchair, handcycle, kayak and paraglider - and accessing remote off-road areas with the Land Rover Defender 110, the team will explore the river and surroundings by water, land and air.
