Around Singapore

Singapore is a big city on an island where land is limited.Scenic spots are few and not outstanding.However, it does offer two interesting places to visit.The first is the Orchard Road enclave where the shopping complexes are very big.This is a shopping paradise for genuine branded goods at very reasonable prices.The second place is the Quayside which is an esplanade for people to roam about.It has a fountain with a mermaid lion spraying out water,very unique.It could be the most photographed structure in the world.It has some bronze figures like those of Guangzhou to decorate the roadside.It is very relaxing to sit on the benches to watch the slow boats passing by.After a relaxing stroll,you can adjourn to a food court called Lau Pa Sat (old market).
