Hilton Head Island, SC - Dolphin Strand Feeding

The dolphins around Hilton Head Island, SC, exhibit a behavior unique in the dolphin world called, "strand feeding." These Atlantic bottlenose dolphins will swim the shallow waters of tidal creeks and occasionally lunge toward a small school of fish pushing them onto the shore along with the dolphins where they are snapped up and eaten.
